Der andere Rucksack
Pictures taken in June. Posting in September. I guess it could be worse and it»s better late than never? Afterall, it kind of looks more autummy than summery, with my fleece jacket, right? The thing is that I am finally here to show you my (already not so) new and amazing backpack.
Fotos hechas en junio y publicando en septiembre. Supongo que podría ser peor y más vale tarde que nunca. Al fin y al cabo, las fotos se ven más otoñales que veraniegas, con mi polar, verdad? El caso es que aquí estoy por fin para enseñaros mi (ya no tan) nueva mochila.
Der andere Rucksack by Mein anderes ich is a German free pattern that reminds us of that so famous, so cool and so in trend backpack that we all? want, but which not all of us are ready to pay the price for. Thanks to this pattern, I now have my own and customized version of it. Sewing is great! I»d say that the pattern is easy to follow even for non German speakers, thanks to all the detailed pictures.
El patrón es el ya archiconocido Der andere Rucksack de Mein anderes ich. Patrón gratuito y muy fácil de seguir con las fotos detalladas que incluye, incluso sin saber alemán, que cumple los sueños de quienes nos moríamos por esa famosa mochila tan de moda pero cuyo precio no estábamos dispuestas a pagar. Además, la versión personalizada a tu gusto y medida mola mucho más.
I did reinforce the back to make it even more comfortable to carry. That strap system is genious!
Reforcé la espalda con una entretela rígida para bolsos que tenía en casa. Quedó un poco tiesa al principio, pero con el uso se ha ido amoldando. ¡Y ese sistema para las tiras en la espalda me encanta!
I used a heavy cotton twill fabric from Merchant & Mills. And also cotton straps. Plus an eye iron-on patch that I had bought in Stoff & Stil some time ago. I have to iron it again every time that I wash the backpack… So trying not to wash it too often.
La tela es una sarga de algodón bastante gruesa de Merchant & Mills. Y las cintas también son de algodón. El ojo que todo lo ve es un parche termoadhesivo de Stoff & Stil… Que cada vez que lavo la mochila se despega por todos los bordes, pero de momento se soluciona planchando de nuevo, y lavando lo menos posible jeje.
I did add a triangle to attach the straps on the lower sides instead of sewing them to the bottom.
Añadí ese triángulo para coger las cintas en los laterales en lugar de salir de debajo. Me parece que así es mucho más cómodo.
I also added a big and simple pocket inside. The backpack opens completely, which is super practical for packing, unpacking, and reaching for things in there.
También le cosí un bolsillo grande y sencillo en el interior. Es genial que la mochila se abra del todo, muy práctico para sacar y meter las cosas.
I also made a closure to tie the straps together with a snap.
Y evidentemente también tenía que hacerle el cierre ese para juntar las asas con un snap.
I love my new backpack and it has been well used all summer long. I think Ribi has been carrying it more than I, because when we are together he is in charge of the heavy weights. He needs to put those strong muscles to use right? 🙂 But still, this thing is the most comfortable backpack I»ve ever had.
La mochila me encanta y la he usado todo el verano. Elegí unas telas unisex, porque así cuando voy con Ribi se la enchufo a él, el que está más fuerte que lleve el peso. ¿Si no para qué entrena a diario? jejeje. Aún así, puedo deciros que también la he usado yo y es la mochila más cómoda del mundo.
